Morel Supremo 602

Morel Supremo acoustics have been well known for a long time. The 6-inch model was called Morel Supremo 6. The new one is called Supremo 602. It is 6-inch and two-way.

The material is highly unexpected for a company known for its caution regarding technological innovations. It is a three-layer sandwich: woven carbon fiber on the front, non-woven carbon fiber reinforcing synthetic resin on the back, and polymethacrylimide foam in between. Carbon provides a resistance of a few ohms; any other material gives infinity.

The new generation of Supremo was developed based on the drivers for Morel's flagship home audio speaker model.

It uses a new principle for building the crossover circuit and a new geometry for the protective grilles. The designers named these grilles "Lotus grills" because they genuinely look like it—an optical effect caused by the varying hole diameters along the radius. The designers wanted to create grilles that you would never want to remove, meaning they produce minimal diffraction and other unwanted effects.
